Meet Dr. Rita Maia
Dr. Rita Maia completed her medical degree in Portugal in 2009 and proceeded to her foundation year and GP training, which she completed in 2015. In 2017, she moved to the UK and has since spent seven years working alongside healthcare providers in the corporate health sector. This experience has given her unique insights into the factors affecting the health of individuals working in competitive and emotionally demanding environments.
Dr. Maia completed her Induction and Refreshment training in the NHS in East London, where she gained valuable exposure to complex pathology and health deprivation. Her commitment to continuous learning led her to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Dermatology with Distinction in 2021.
More recently, noticing the lack of support for menopausal women, she enrolled in the Advanced Certificate in the Principles and Practice of Menopause Care (PPMC) in 2024 to better address the needs of this underserved group.
